Carlos was born in Cuba, and started dancing at the young age of 11 in a traveling aboriginal dance troupe. After touring all across Europe and appearing on TV, he eventually found his way over to the United States at the age of 16 where he discovered ballroom dancing. After high school, Carlos started working for Arthur Murray Dance Studios up north, where he received professional dance training in New York. He later moved to Florida to start competing with his former dance partner at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, where he first met Sarah.
Sarah was born in Indiana, and moved to Florida when she was 7 years old. She did not discover dance until college at the University of Florida, where she was introduced to salsa, bachata, and cumbia. After graduation, she started working at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, where she met and was trained by Carlos. After her time there, Sarah left dance to teach music, drama, & dance at a local middle school.
Though we met in March of 2015, we did not begin dating until much later. In fact, when we first met, we really thought of each other as just a brother and sister!
After 3 years away from each other, much had changed, and we reconnected on a date at 400 Beach Seafood & Taphouse. Four months later, we were engaged! Now, almost one year later, we are beginning our dream together of providing other couples with the wonderful experience of dance.
